Holiday Cards

I hope everyone is having a great holiday season. My time off from work is just flying by (way to quickly.) I promise to move away from the holidays soon, really. And in fact I got a new cricut cartridge that I have been been playing with a bunch that I promise to share some things I've created using it soon. Until then I thought I'd share a couple of my favorite holiday cards that I sent out this year.

I love the HO HO HO stamp set from Inque. They just make me smile. One of my goals for the new year is to become a better stamper but I do love wet embossing!! Here I love how the silver HO HO HO looks on the holiday cards.

Then I made these which I LOVE. I had just received the giga scalloped marvy punch (so had to make something with it right?). And pulled together one of my favorite cricut die cuts. The snow globe I've used the last two holidays seasons. I absolutely love it. It is so fun to layer and I used a transparency for the top layer for a "glass" like appearance.

Holiday Cat Layouts

While hubby is off working tonight I'm up for a little late night blogging. Working nights over the holidays at first "sounded" like a great idea, extra $$ and everything, but in reality, he hasn't been working full nights and has to work full days on either side of the swing shift which just throws our sleep cycles completely off. At least I'm off work for the week. So while I'm up I figured I'd share a few holiday layouts I just finished up.

Look what showed up under the tree!! Simple green cardstock background with a scrap piece of red pattern paper. Scenic Route arrow, "be merry" digital scrapbook element from Two Peas in a Bucket.

Christmas morning at our house. No kids but one truly spoiled cat. This year we got him a tie. He isn't a big fan of the hats and outfits we "encourage" him into. Usually the most fun he has is playing with the wrapping paper, but this year he seemed to actually like the tie. Paper is out of a Coordinates Collections Monthly Kit and some left over die cuts sitting on my table.

Happy Holidays

Welcome to my craft blog. As part of my New Years goals I've started a craft blog, forget loosing weight this seemed far more attainable. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and is looking forward to a wonderful New Year!! For about the past ~10 years I've made ornaments as gifts for family and friends. Part of holiday tradition. This year the holidays kinda snuck up on me so I went simple and hopefully elegant. I got these Snow Flake Wire Forms and started adding beads. I wrapped the middle with some iridescent ribbon and added a silver sentiment bead in the center (this one says "believe"). I bought a bunch of strands of silver beads that looked snowflake worthy from Michael's plus some Swarovski crystals to finish of the ends. These were pretty easy to pull together, but I love the way they turned out. Each one is a little different as true snowflakes should be.
