Birthday Card for an Old Friend
By old I don't mean age, but we've been friends since I was 18 and let's just say it's been well over a decade!! He's seen me at my best and at my worst. Not many people would/have stuck around for that! So since I just got a new cricut cartridge I had to figure out how to use it and create a card for him. This is a mix of a taylored expressions stamp set with the "straight from the nest" cricut cartridge. It's not your typical "birthday card" but I like it none the less.

Happy Birthday Dad
I just got a new cricut cartridge and this is one of the first cards I made playing with it. This one is headed to my dad, Not sure if he'll like it but who doesn't like cupcakes right? Happy Birthday Dad... I love you!!!

Easter Sunday
Generally we don't really do Easter, but I was out yesterday by my favorite chocolatier and decided I'd pick up some for my sweetie, which of course meant I "needed" to put together a basket ;) So here you have it. Happy Easter Everyone.

Surf's Up!
Kyle's decided to take up surfing. Here's a layout capturing his first lesson. He has since bought his own board, and is working on convincing a friend to take up the sport with him. It's been awhile since I've done a layout but I love the way this one turned out! I love all the different papers and textures.

Friendship Card
I'm still loving this stamp set and really love this my minds eye "home" paper pack I picked up. I also love the color combination of these flowers (the same as I used on the orchid cards from the same stamp set)

Happy Birthday Little Brother
Masculine birthday cards are always a challenge for me. I love pink and girl-y colors that just don't work for a guy card. These were my first cupcake stamps I purchased (and it's become an obsession since). Previously I did a pink version that was one of my favorites. I think I've found the male counterpart. I love how the muted colors come together and are still festive. This one is for my brother. Happy Birthday Adam!!!

Happy Birthday Jen
I received the orchid stamp (as part of a set) for Christmas and I love it!! I need to try some of the others in the set, but that will have to wait for another day. The swirled corners are a 7 gypsies set. This card is to wish my friend Jen a very happy 30th birthday.

Happy Valentine's Day!!
The outside of the card.
The inside of the card.
I really wanted to create a card with a punchout on the front and hearts showing through. For some reason it took forever to get it to come together in a way I liked. But I am happy with the final product. I used fancy pants rub ons, a little making memories paper and a little yellow bicycle transparency.
Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Baby Card
There's been a baby explosion of late... Here was the card I sent to a good friend, after the arrival of their first a precious baby boy!
Maui Vacation 2009- Mini Album
We went to Hawaii the end of Oct. beginning of Nov. of 2009... I actually finished this mini album a few weeks after we returned, but it's taken me forever to get it together and post the album. I absolutely love this album (along with the vacation that it went to ;) ) When I picked up the vintage-y pin up girl post card I knew exactly how I wanted to use it.

25 days of Christmas Album
This year since I was wrapping up the 365 photo a day challenge it seemed like a good tie in to not only start a new project but dove tail it into the photo challenge. I really liked this project, but next year I certainly need to take better notes and capture each day more fully. I also need to get much better at taking pictures of these sort of things, they never come out as well as I'd like, but then I'm too impatient to keep trying, since I just want to get them up here.
Here are pictures from the '09 holiday album.

2009 Holiday Cards
I didn't get that great of pictures of these cards... it was unfortunately an afterthought so they looked far better in person. But here they are.
2009 Ornaments
This year I was determined to get back into making ornaments. It's something I've done for many many years... Last year I fell off the wagon... Our life has been a bit hectic and trying the last couple of years, but so even though things aren't back to "normal" I was determined to get back to traditions and hope that would help bring on the holiday spirit. So I found this reindeer pattern and went with it. I love them even if the antlers were way to fragile and half of them had to be glued on.

Pumpkin Fields
We were actually on vacation for halloween, but I do love pumpkins and all things pumpkin. They are the best part of fall IMHO, aside from the long sleeves and wonderful fall colors. We went up to half moon bay for lunch and stopped on our way back at one of the pumpkin patches. Here's the layout of the day.

Pumpkin Inspiration
When I saw this post I was inspired. Here are the paper pumpkins I made:
Perhaps my embargo on Halloween is finally lifting.
