I recently got the everyday pop up cards cricut cartridge. I love so many of the selections, but since I've been in a big hot air balloon motif lately I decided to make this one first. The top one is the pop-up card version, the bottom is the hot air balloon alone. I think they are just so cute. Love them. The sentiment on the second one is from echo park - dots and stripes elements.

From the Unity March 2010 KOM. I really love the bubble gum dispenser stamp! I made a few others last weekend, but had an extra sentiment that I'd stamped so I wanted to make one to match. I coupled the stamp with paper scraps from one of my favorite paper packs.

When I saw this stamp in the June 2011 Unity kit I had to have it. I debated and went back and forth and then there was a sale! So I jumped on it and got a couple sets and a few individual stamps. I love the kits I got. Here is the first card I made with one of the stamps and it was for my Mom's birthday. Inside reads "Have a beachin birthday". I'm in love with this stamp in particular, and can't wait to keep playing with the whole set.

A Day At The Zoo

A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to take the afternoon off and spend it with a few of my favorite people. My sister in law was visiting with two of my nieces and my brand new nephew. We went to the SF Zoo for the day and it was really a lot of fun to spend it with the kids. They ran around all day and loved looking at all the animals. It was such a blast. Of course I brought my camera along and and took a ton of photos of the day. Which I thought would go well in a mini album. I haven't done one in a while, but I love doing them since they usually come together quicker than regular pages and are just so cute when complete. Here's the complete album. I'm loving it!

I love the cherry motif but am having a hard time figuring out an "event" that's appropriate. So I liked the "you're so sweet" saying, and decided to couple it with "thanks so much". Many more cherry cards are in my future.

I love to bead, but somehow there isn't enough time. I keep buying them though. I've cut back, so I'll give myself a little credit. But when I saw a package that contained the focal bead and the black and white striped square beads along with some purple ones I had to have them. This one didn't take long to actually string, it's one of those necklaces that I spent a long time working on in my head. Finally, it's together and I love it!

I got the Baby Button Bits stamp set from Papertrey Ink for my birthday and I think it's going to be a favorite!! I love these flowers (amongst just about all of the other designs in the set.) Two of my dearest friends took me out for a birthday dinner + traditional Pixar movie. So I put together this thank you card to send them. I don't know if they realize just how important they are in my life, but hopefully this thank you card will express it.

By old I don't mean age, but we've been friends since I was 18 and let's just say it's been well over a decade!! He's seen me at my best and at my worst. Not many people would/have stuck around for that! So since I just got a new cricut cartridge I had to figure out how to use it and create a card for him. This is a mix of a taylored expressions stamp set with the "straight from the nest" cricut cartridge. It's not your typical "birthday card" but I like it none the less.

These were my first cupcake stamps I purchased (and it's become an obsession since). Previously I did a pink version that was one of my favorites. I think I've found the male counterpart. I really wanted to create a card with a punchout on the front and hearts showing through. For some reason it took forever to get it to come together in a way I liked. But I am happy with the final product. I used fancy pants rub ons, a little making memories paper and a little yellow bicycle transparency.

Maui Vacation 2009- Mini Album

We went to Hawaii the end of Oct. beginning of Nov. of 2009... I actually finished this mini album a few weeks after we returned, but it's taken me forever to get it together and post the album. I absolutely love this album (along with the vacation that it went to ;) ) When I picked up the vintage-y pin up girl post card I knew exactly how I wanted to use it.

This year since I was wrapping up the 365 photo a day challenge it seemed like a good tie in to not only start a new project but dove tail it into the photo challenge. I really liked this project, but next year I certainly need to take better notes and capture each day more fully. I also need to get much better at taking pictures of these sort of things, they never come out as well as I'd like, but then I'm too impatient to keep trying, since I just want to get them up here.

This year I was determined to get back into making ornaments. It's something I've done for many many years... Last year I fell off the wagon... Our life has been a bit hectic and trying the last couple of years, but so even though things aren't back to "normal" I was determined to get back to traditions and hope that would help bring on the holiday spirit. So I found this reindeer pattern and went with it. I love them even if the antlers were way to fragile and half of them had to be glued on.

I just ordered (and received) the Penny Black - Spooky rubber stamp set. As I have previously mentioned I'm not the biggest fan of Halloween. However, when I saw this stamp set I couldn't resist. I mean cute kitties + Halloween. I gave in. Here's the first round of using this set. I'm sure more will follow.

Honeymoon Album Done - Finally Only Took 3yrs.

For the last 2 years I've had this as one of my new years resolutions, or at the very least perpetually on my todo list. So since we are actually going back to Hawaii this fall it seemed even more imperative that I finish this one up. I only had the last page to finish and that's the way it's sat for 2.5yrs... My best friend got engaged around that time and I switched gears, and never returned. I've stopped and started a few times since, but just never finished..... so finally it's done. It's interesting to go back and look at how my scrap style has changed and grown over the years since it became an obsession. For the most part I still like this album, however it may also be due to sentimentality. The pictures are kinda crappy that I took of the pages, but I don't have the energy to redo them. For now these will have to do.

Here's the thing I don't like Halloween, but love pumpkins... ironic? I have others: Hate to fly and all things avionic, but work for a company that does air traffic research; don't really care for wine, love wineries; don't drink beer but have a few favorite breweries... you get the picture. I'm a complicated girl what can I say. In any case I'd gotten a set of stamps that cover all the holidays (from Target, can't remember the brand) and the pumpkins have just been staring at me. So this weekend I threw these together. Friends I might just be sending you autumn greetings this year :)

Vintage Picnic from papertrey ink. I'm loving this stamp set and I've only created this basket and flower combo. The basket is the simple basket on pattern paper that I thought made a wonderful basket. There are so many other combinations left to be done. :)

No not for us right now, but I'm suddenly surrounded by friends and coworkers who are trying, pregnant or just had a little one. When a good friend told me she was pregnant I immediately started thinking I needed to make a card (duh)... Kyle insisted I wait until officially past the 1st trimester (somehow I was too excited about the news that I wasn't even thinking about that) I've been holding back posting this one until the recipient received theirs. Inspired by this card, I was determined to come up with some onesie cards of my own and here they are. They are super fun to make and I love them so much that I had to make a template so I can keep making different versions.

I've had the last week off and I only managed to finish this layout..... I have a few cards I'll share later, but I ended up doing so many other things I barely had a chance in my craft room to be creative. If only I could take a few more weeks off!! I've been thinking about this layout since we went to the game. I started out thinking I'd make a 2-page layout, and wound up scaling it back to one. I like the results.

Vintage Button Earrings

I love buttons. So when my mom has been going through my grandparents things I was happy to take the buttons off her hands. I'm sure you can still find similar buttons out there, but there's something special about them coming from my grandmothers. I really wanted to find a functional way to use some of them. So I put together these earings. The hardest part was figuring out the best way to stabalize them. A touch of strong glue kept the headpin in place and I was in business. I am quite fond of the result.

Cupcake cards... I can't help myself

I'm obsessed with cupcakes for birthday cards... And I gave in and bought the Maya Road Cupcake Stamps. I also used the Taylored Expressions- Fresh Flowers set for the table (another recent favorite stamp set.) And the sentiments were from studio g $1 stamps. I haven't decided which of the many girl birthdays the first card will go out to, the second is for our nephew. I'm working on making cupcakes masculine ;)
